Sandi West joined the Mountaineer Athletic Club staff in April 2016 as the Director of Mountaineer Athletic Hospitality. In her current role, West oversees the premium seating and hospitality operation on Mountaineer Football game days. West also assists the Athletics Department with hospitality at various conference championships. 
 
West came to West Virginia from Miami, where she was the Events Planner for Athletic Alumni Programs. In that position, she assisted with planning and executing various varsity sport reunions, the annual First Pitch Baseball Banquet and the 2016 Celebration of Women’s Athletics.
 
Also at Miami, West served as a Football Operations Assistant from 2014-15, assisting with official visits, travel coordination and reimbursements for the coaching staff, as well as the execution of summer camps and clinics.
 
West previously worked as a Ticket Supervisor at IMG Tickets in Coral Gables from 2013-14 where she provided customer service to a number of different events across South Florida, including the Miami Open Tennis Tournament.
 
West received her bachelor’s degree in sport management from West Virginia University in 2012 and her master’s in sport administration from the University of Miami in 2014.

Ruth Phillips joined the Mountaineer Athletic Hospitality staff in July 2020 as an Intern.  In her current role, she oversees FANGINEER recruitment, and FANGINEER staffing on Mountaineer Football game days.

Phillips came to West Virginia from Slippery Rock University, where she completed her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sport Management in May of 2019.  In May of 2019, Phillips started a full-time internship at the Slippery Rock University Athletic Department.  While completing the internship, she was offered a position within the Athletic Department to work as a temporary Secretary/Fiscal Assistant.  She finished her internship in July of 2019 and completed the temporary work position in October of 2019.  At the internship, she created athletic contracts for the fall sports of 2019 through Microsoft Word, updated budgets for the fiscal year of 2018-2019, and created new budget documents for 2019-2020 through SAP.  At the temporary work position, she created student worker positions through Handshake, processed purchase requisitions through SAP, and completed other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Associate Athletic Director.

In her free time, Phillips enjoys hiking, playing with her dog Boe, spending time with family and friends, gardening/landscaping, traveling to new areas, and helping others where needed.

Phillips is currently working toward her Master’s of Science Degree in Sport Management at West Virginia University, where she is expected to graduate in May of 2022.
